The Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Sri Vijaya Puram, Ministry of Defence (Navy), Apprentice Training School has invited online applications for enrolment in the Technician (Vocational) Apprentice Programme for One Year under the IT-03 Batch 2026-27.

A total of 50 apprenticeship seats are available across 13 designated ITI trades. Eligible Indian Nationals who have passed Matriculation and ITI in the relevant trade under NCVT or SCVT can apply.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Matriculation / Class 10 and possess an ITI qualification in the relevant designated trade.

The ITI qualification must be recognised under NCVT or SCVT, as applicable to the relevant trade.

Age Limit

The minimum age for the apprenticeship is 18 years.

There is no upper age limit for this apprenticeship training, subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.

Training Duration

The tentative commencement date of training is 1 December 2026.

The training will be conducted at the Naval Ship Repair Yard, Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Stipend

Apprentices will receive the stipend prescribed under the applicable Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended from time to time.

Candidates are shortlisted based on the prescribed Class 10 and ITI marks. Shortlisted candidates are then called for the prescribed interview and subsequent verification and medical examination.

Technical Interview

The technical interview carries 50 marks. Candidates should be prepared for questions related to their ITI trade and basic technical knowledge.

In case of a tie in the final merit position, the conditions prescribed in the official notification will be followed.

Candidates selected for further stages must undergo the prescribed medical fitness examination.

Candidates should be physically and medically fit to undertake technical apprenticeship training in a Naval Ship Repair Yard environment.

Travel and Accommodation

No travelling allowance or daily allowance is provided for candidates called for interview, document verification or joining the apprenticeship programme.

Candidates are responsible for arranging their own boarding and lodging during such visits.

Facilities During Training

Apprentices joining the Naval Ship Repair Yard are provided the prescribed safety and workshop equipment according to the training requirements.

The notification provides for items such as workshop overalls, safety shoes, gloves, safety goggles, safety helmet and ear protection as prescribed for apprentices.
