Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Job Purpose
1.1 Oversee all aspects of security at the Data Centre (DC)/Data Recovery Centre (DR) to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability and non-repudiation of the information technology services on a 24*7 basis to prevent potential information security breaches.
2. Roles and Responsibilities
2.1 Oversee, upkeep, maintenance e& regular monitoring of all security related components/infrastructure; Ensure hardening of critical systems with initial configuration & creation of backups to ensure data protection.
2.2 Maintain the virtual Private Network (VPN) gateway & monitor the availability of local & remote VPN gateway to meet the specific requirements of the stakeholders; Monitor the VPN tunnel delays for potential breaches if any and liaise with the network team to detect slow VPN connections & take corrective action, required.
2.3 Monitor network based intrusion Prevention System (NIPS) for 24*7availbilty in order to prevent network attacks; Analyse network attacks and serious attack attempts on the system to identify vulnerabilities, propose preventive & corrective actions to ensure prevention of all known network based attack. Obtain formal agreement from a large & diverse range of potential stakeholders & recipients to the scope & requirements; Establish a base-line on which delivery of a solution can commence.
2.4 Ensure any changes i.e. patch, configuration, etc that is to be made to a system is tested for potential security vulnerabilities.
2.5 Ensure that all services related to Patch Management comply with the Security Policies & Standards adopted at NATGRID; Evaluate the stability of the patch developed & installed and verify the stability of systems after Patch Installation.
2.6 Evaluate security vulnerability across Web Applications, Operating Systems and Databases by undertaking vulnerability Assessments/Penetration Testing. Ensure removal of all non-essential tools, utilities, and services with other system administration by activating and configuring appropriate security features/hardening of systems.
2.7 Ensure log management of host & network/security devices, investigated, security incidents, user & resource access monitoring, and event correlation & compliance reporting.
2.8 Ensure utilisation of a variety of protocols to collect distributed date in order to analyse events and suggest preventive measures.
2.9 Undertake a multi stage event correlation by analysing information from a variety of disparate events and determine the correlation between events & detect event of significance.
3. Required Skills and Experience
3.1 Essential
3.1.1 4-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent with experience in CCSP or equivalent with experience in perimeter level security like Firewall, NIPS, etc.
4. Qualification
4.1 Essential
4.1.1 BE/BTech/MCA/MSc from a recognised university
4.2 Desirables
4.2.1 Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Applications/Graduate with PG Degree/Diploma in Computer Science
