Visakhapatnam Port Trust

Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) is one of the 12 major ports of the country. The port was established in the year 1933. It is under the administrative control of Ministry of Shipping, governed by the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 and Indian Ports Act, 1908.

VPT has been one of the earliest adapters of IT Systems among the Ports in India. As a part of continued journey of IT enablement, VPT has implemented SAP Enterprise Resource Planning solution to increate transparency and efficiency in the port operations. In this regard the O& M support with the current implementing partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) contract engagement is coming to an end by Mar 2020. In view of this VPT desires to build internal competencies instated of engaging system integrator for all the future requirements of the existing solution
