Do not forget these 6 things while doing salary negotiation

things while doing salary

If preparations are made in advance, then the offer in the new company gets merged. But despite the preparations, most of the people speak such things while negotiating salary, which is enough to divert water from all sides.

If the preparation is good then it becomes easy to negotiate salary. If you do a little research about the company in which you are talking about jobs, then you will be able to present yourself better. However, despite a lot of preparation, while speaking salary, people often say such things which do not go in their favor. Here we are telling you about some such things which should not be said at the time of negotiating salary:

1. 'I'm getting married or I'm changing my house'
Understand this very well that it does not matter to anyone. Your personal problems are yours and have nothing to do with them. And do not expect that the person taking the interview will be heartbroken after hearing your sad story. It would be better to avoid personal talk during the interview. Even if you are going through a lot due to personal problems, it is not right to talk about them in interviews. Talk about your work instead.

2. Use of the word 'sorry'
No need to apologize. We use the word sorry, especially when talking to a big man. But during the interview, there is nothing in the salary discharge for which you have to apologize. You are talking about your money which is your right. There is no need to be embarrassed or uncomfortable about it. You are working hard for the money and showing courage to take new challenges.

3. 'I need a salary hike'
Do you really need it? And even if needed, what? To say that while talking about salary, to emphasize that there is a need, therefore, they are asking, it is totally wrong to say. Everyone wants more salary. But the important thing is whether he deserves. When negotiating salary, instead of saying that there is a 'need', say that you are desirous, therefore you need so much salary.

4. 'I have another offer with more salary'
If it is, then take the offer. The other company is giving you more money and this is everything for you, then you would have taken that offer by now. So instead of playing this card, it is better for you to decide on the same offer in the company in which you are talking about salary.

5. 'I have not received a salary hike for a long time'
You should keep your point in such a way that it does not feel that you are complaining about not having a hike in the previous company. If you make them pay attention that you have not been able to get a hike for a long time, then they will understand that there is no point in giving you more salary even now.

6. 'But others are getting more money for doing less work'
It is completely wrong to compare oneself to another's work. Instead you should say how hard you are working for your work, but as soon as you start talking to others, things start going against you. Also the message goes that you like to gossip.
